Maui Barfs…
…and barfs, and barfs.
I may have mentioned that Maui, the Gender Confused Cat, has a large vocabulary. But it’s not all vocal. Maui can say a lot with his regurgitation.
L & I have been friends for a long time. So long, in fact, that it was hard for me to reconcile my feelings for her when they started appearing. We spent a lot of time together, but it was purely platonic.
I suspected that there was a mutual attraction, but I wasn’t sure how to address it or change my behavior around her. As a result, we started spending more and more time together. At first, Shyanne seemed aloof and fairly indifferent to my presence. Looking back, she just needed time to adjust.
Maui seemed much more interested in me in those early days. He would often greet me and sniff my offered hand, then walk away as if I held no interest to him, only to come back a moment later and repeat the whole exercise.
Once I finally acted on my feelings and learned that they were reciprocal, our relationship moved into high gear pretty quickly. Maui was alarmed to discover that this casual acquaintance was going to be spending the night on a fairly regular basis.
How Maui dealt with this was through carefully calculated regurgitation. There’s no way you can misinterpret such a message when it is delivered so deliberately on the bedspread during intimate moments.
Maui made it abundantly clear that he was not pleased with me, the interloper. Shyanne, on the other hand, was making a different choice.

Yeah Maui and I have had a long standing battle. When I lived with L as a housemate it was the battle of Maui on my bed in the other room. The battle ended in a tie. Maui knew not to get on my bed (when I was there), however she/he has never forgiven me and probably never will.
As a former housemate of L I understand the battle. Maui and I had a battle over sleeping on my bed. I kinda won - Maui would get off my bed whenever I was there, but in return I was never forgiven.
